Dr. Salah El Haggar, Eng. Sherine Fahmy, and Eng. Sara Harb visited Hayah International Academy on December 11, 2019 to offer a short seminar explaining the financial, education and ethical benefits that adopting the TARSHEED program can offer the school.
On December 15, 2019 Dr. El Haggar and Eng. Sara Harb were involved in WARSHA, a unique opportunity for middle school students to engage in the basics of sustainability and community development.

Visit 2:
Egypt GBC was invited to take part in the Hayah International Academy one-day conference, held to introduce eighth-grade students to the basics of sustainability and community development. This year’s challenge was “Designing a Solid Waste Management Plan for Hayah”, and each group of students presented its action plan at the end of the conference.
Egypt GBC facilitated this process, as Dr. Salah El-Haggar discussed the history of sustainability and the main definition of sustainability and how sustainable development can solve all our problems, starting from solid waste management all the way to job opportunities.

Dr. Salah also discussed the approach to follow in order to enable the school to become a role model in sustainable solid waste management. The interaction with the students was productive, and they were very keen to implement those ideas.
To follow up on that, Sara Harb was assigned to one group of students, whose role was to devise means to increase student’s sustainability awareness on campus.
She helped them brainstorm their ideas, and convert them to tangible solutions, which they happily presented at the end of the conference.
